Description
Andrea is a huge fan of Pickleball, so she designed a hat for everyone to express their love for the fastest-growing sport in the United States. This pattern is only available in this kit.
š The kit includes Malabrigo Rios in Plomo (210 yards) and 52 yards each of Apple Green and (depending on the color chosen) either Aquamarine or Natural in Malabrigo Rios, 6 stitch markers, a color-printed pattern, and a clear project bag with handles. šš The main color is a grey hand-dyed yarn.
About the yarn: Malabrigo Rios isĀ super soft, strong, and washable. This 4-ply yarn is our workhorse!Ā The plies help resist pilling, and its washability makes it fantastic for frequently worn garments, housewares, and children'sĀ and baby clothes.
The Kit does not include the knitting needles: The pattern calls for US 5 (3.75mm) for the brim and US 7 (4.5mm) for the hat body and #7 dpn's. The pattern is sized adult, 19" to 22". Knitting needles can be found HERE.
If you were to buy the full skeins for this pattern plus all the extras, we include in this kit the cost would be $66.78. If you know you want to make multiple hats, Malabrigo Rios can be foundĀ HERE.

Great quality yarn!
Love the yarn super soft, comma, pattern is well written. I would not however recommend this kit. I am not a loose knitter, and yet I felt that the needle size and the yarn size didnāt work well together I made my just a slightly bit longer because my daughter-in-law has a large head. Needed to be tighter on the band portion of the head as well.
Halfway through knitting this Pickleball Hat. The yarn is awesome, so soft. Worried that it is coming out a little small..... Only time will tell! Apple Yarns was awesome to do business with!
The yarn is so soft and easy to work with. The pattern is easy to follow. Only glitch for me was I had to switch to larger needles as the hat was looking too small.
