Shipping & ORDERING
How will I know when my order has shipped or is ready for pickup?
All of our shipping orders are run through an application that automatically sends out an email notification when the items are sent from our store (be sure to check your spam folder). We ship out Monday-Friday but sometimes need to delay a shipment if one or more items require a special order. If you have a specific question regarding the timing of your order, please call the store directly at 360-756-9992 and we'll do our best to help.
For in-person pickup orders, we always call or email our customers when their items are ready. Items can be picked up any time during our regular open hours.
There is a mistake or problem with my order
We strive our best to fulfill all orders correctly, but recognize that mistakes can and do happen occasionally. Let us make it right. Please call the store at 360-756-9992 or email us at shop@appleyarns.com so we can find a solution. You can also reach out to us via email using the button at the center of the Apple Yarns Help Center page (just below the title).
We take great care in wrapping our items to prevent any possible damage during the shipping process, but sometimes the journey takes a greater toll than we can anticipate. If an item arrives damaged to you please take a picture of the damage and send it to our shop immediately at orders@appleyarns.com so we can begin the claims process, and hold on to the packaging for inspection by the shipper. We sincerely apologize for any trouble these circumstances may cause and will continue to do our best to avoid these situations entirely by using careful packing techniques.
I ordered a product that is listed as "Drop Ship" - what does this mean?
Drop Shipping is a method of remote sales where the seller has a product sent to the customer directly from the supplier instead of coming from the seller's location. Using Drop Shipping allows Apple Yarns to provide more options and products for our customers than we would be able to keep in our limited inventory. Since these products do not come through the Apple Yarns shop, we are unable to wind the yarns before you receive them. However, local customers are always welcome to come in and have them wound after receiving a Drop Ship order.
Can I buy on the website and pick up my order in person?
Of course. Just select “Curbside Pickup” in the shipping section and come in during regular store hours. Please do not pick up your order until you have received confirmation of your order via telephone or email.

I am struggling, can you help?
We all run into struggles with our projects from time to time. Many of our staff are skilled in knitting and/or crochet, and we offer both in-person and virtual help with projects when you're in need. For more in-depth help we also offer 1-on-1 private lessons for either a half or full hour, depending on your project goals.
We also enjoy helping our customers find a pattern for them to make. Our number one resource we like to use is Ravelry.com, but there are lots of options out there. Feel free to call us at 360-756-9992 or stop in and we can help you find something special!
Can I provide feedback on my experience with Apple Yarns?

How to login to the website or your VIP account
There are lots of reasons you might want to log-in to Apple Yarns online. For some, they enjoy the convenience of having their yarn/notion purchases tracked and associated with their information so it is easy for them to look up previous acquisitions (for example, if they are looking to match a color they used previously but no longer have the ball band). For others, such as our VIP members, they may use a discount associated with their account. There are two main ways to log-in to an Apple Yarns account, and it depends on whether you are using a mobile or desktop browser.
When using a home computer, laptop or tablet, you first navigate to our home page at www.appleyarns.com. Next, if you look in the upper right-hand section of the screen you will see three icons, a magnifying glass, a small person, and a shopping cart. The center icon, the small person, is the button to select in order to sign in to your account (or create one if you are a new user). You can then enter your email address and password you've selected to log in.
For mobile browser users, the log-in process is slightly different. Once you've navigated to our home page, www.appleyarns.com, if you look in the upper left-hand corner of the screen you will see three horizontal lines indicating the website menu. If you select this and scroll down you should see the prompt to log in to your account (or register if you are a new user).
One tip for VIP members: be certain to log in using the same email you used to sign up for VIP or your VIP discount will not work during the checkout process. If you are unsure which email you used to sign up, please call us at 360-756-9992 or email us at shop@appleyarns.com. VIP members can also log-in directly using the drop-down menu item "VIP" at the top of our home page.

YARN QUESTIONS
Will you wind my yarns?
Of course, it’s part of our customer service; each yarn at www.appleyarns.com asks
that question, just check the box. You can also let us know in the notes section at check out. If an item is listed as "Drop Shipped" then it comes directly from the supplier and we are unable to wind it prior to you receiving it, but we are still happy to wind items for customers who can come in-person after they have received a Drop Shipped product.
Can I trust the colors on your website?
We do our best to have colors represented as they are at Apple Yarns; making comparisons with the photo to the actual product. We are also here for a second opinion, contact us and we’ll take new photos with color combinations that you have selected.

How do I best work with hand dyed yarns?
Hand-dyed yarns are special; no two skeins are the same. Please order enough yarn to complete your project. If you order more than one skein we will select colors that are the most similar for you. Tip; work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball, to help blend color differences from one skein to the next. This can be done for the entire project but we find transitioning just at the end of a skein works fine, about 8 rows.

The name was easy. Apples represent the great state of Washington and my Grandma made the best apple pies. Enjoy my Grandma's original Apple Pie recipe from 1942.
