Simple shapes and easy construction make Base Doodle Patterns by Jamie Lomax a great place to start making your own custom colorwork projects.  Add fun motifs (Doodle Decks) or you can always knit with one yarn color.  Suggested yarn weight is DK but recipes include options to make Sport and Light Worsted possible, too.

Beanie - comes in 6 sizes and with Standard or Folded Brim options, -  uses size 5 x 16" needle

Fingerless Mitts - comes in 3 sizes - uses size #5 DPN needle or a long #5 circular needle for Magic Loop or Short Circulars

Headband - comes in 6 sizes and is the perfect starting place when combining Doodle Motifs and hand knits - uses size 5 x 16" needle

Top-Down Socks - comes in 4 sizes and has different ribbing, heels and toes to choose from, - uses size #5 DPN needle or a long #5 needle for Magic Loop or Short Circulars
