We love KnittedKnockers.org! They are 100% volunteer-based with the most beautiful and giving people that we have the honor of seeing weekly at two different events at Apple Yarns.
Everyone is welcome; on Wednesday's we host the fixer's, stuffer's and shippers and on Friday we have knitter's and crocheters that craft the hand knit/crochet breast prostheses. In 2017, 28,000 knockers were sent out and in 2018, 33,000 were sent out. The mail for KnittedKnockers.org arrives at Apple Yarns, so it's like Christmas every day here.

Today, I went for my annual Mammogram and noticed a basket of hand made breasts, curious I picked one up and thought I would try it in my bra. WOW! after almost twelve years of feeling ugly and having one breast three inches smaller than the other because of Cancer I can now look in the mirror and not feel ugly. Thank you to Rachael for knitting my new lovely breast prosthetic. I am over the moon.

I shop online from Cincinnati - exclusively for Ultra Pima for knockers. (My goal is to knit knockers from a skein of each color - have completed knockers from 23 skeins in 2017 and have just ordered 6 more!) The staff is delightful over the phone. I have introduced knockers to my knitting group at church and will be holding a knockers knit-in at my hair salon on a Sunday afternoon next month. If I ever get to the west coast, I will add Apple Yarns to my vacation itinerary!

In addition to hosting multiple events a week and providing phone support, (360)756-9992 when needed, we have reduced the cost of the favorite yarn Ultra Pima by about $2.00 a skein to help the many volunteers.
KnittedKnockers.org has grown to include 450 volunteer knitting (and crocheting) registered groups in the United States and worldwide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the many volunteers.
